Day 31

Fencing: the Medieval Art of Sports. My brother (on the left) did a fantastic job this morning at his epee [prenounced: "ep" "ay"] tournament. In this particular bout, he defeated a much more advanced fencer.

Day 30

I was having fun editing this one. Ariel's showing off all the ones we got back from our waitress at Olive Garden, who did not understand what we were asking for.

Day 29

With the hall being empty this afternoon, Haley and I took turns leaping in the hallway. Great fun, as you can tell.

Day 28

When I'm not working, this is my J-Term. I do things I told myself I'd do "when I had time". Such as read a biography on people such as Jimmy Stewart. Why not?

Day 27

Tonight, after watching the State of the Union, I wrote my favorite quotes and stand-out words on a coffee cup. Sometimes I really do out-liberal myself.

Day 26

Forgive me, I dozed off before putting up today's photo. So there will be two for "Wednesday". On frigid to-the-bones weather like today, I try and think about summer. So I pulled up one of my old summer photos, which I haven't published on Facebook or anywhere else, so it's technically new. Vision of purple tulips and green grass keep me upbeat during the month of January.

Day 25

My current collection of books and movies based on the Imperial Romanov family. A couple are from the library here at Gustavus. But most are my own. It's a large fascination of mine.

Day 24

Our fridge magnets explain the Vikings/Saints game tonight. After a 3 and a half hour game, it ended with one final kick. More surprising? That I watched the whole thing.

Day 23

A hunter stalking its unsuspecting brother. I blame said brother since he taught my friend and I how to play Call of Duty today. Luckily for him, I failed epicly at it.

Day 22

Gustavus vs St. John's: 3-3. Mad, loud game. Luckily I only had to suffer through 3 rounds of the Gustie Rouser. But it was great fun. Sten very much enjoyed his first college hockey game. We all wanted to see a little more blood though. ;)

Day 21

My butt-kickin', broomball playing babies. I show more support by cheering (quite loudly). Sadly, Em and Jules have left for two weeks to go with the rest of the Gustavus Wind Orchestra to Eastern Europe. Jealous? Me too.

Day 20

Just for you Casey. Ariel and I had tea, and Chuck wanted to join. He liked tea-time.

Day 19

My Lord of the Rings obsession has returned. And thus, my deep love for Aragorn. Luckily my friends except me for the nerd I am. Some of them even join me in my nerddom.

Day 18

My lovely roommate from last year was back on campus today. We needed more pictures together. And practice our social dance class skills as well. ;)

Day 17

Lovely evening of home cooked food. Brittney made a vegetable pasta and cupcakes, and Cory made these delicious chocolate chip cookies. You can't say no to these cookies.

Day 16

Today was completely spent with friends. I made chicken fajites for everyone, then we watched a sci fi/thriller movie Sunshine, then Cory and I won Lord of the Rings Trivial Pursuit (no surprise there). Excellent day by my standards.

Day 15

Em's Christmas present from me. It reads "I Love Dogs. Pass it On." It has provided an entire night of jokes.

Day 14

The long and icy path. Gustauvs is pretty much a safety hazard during January. But I'm just thrilled it's been mildly warm this week.

Day 13

Gustavus CAB Coffeehouse presents: Will Hutchinson & Friends. He performed last year, and was great. He's a shy blonde with a guitar-- my favorite. :)

Day 12

Winter frost this morning was beautiful. I like the mix of blue sky and fresh white snow.

Day 11

My favorite building on campus, Old Main. Also the oldest and houses the Political Science department. So I'm there a lot. There's also a story that a dead cow haunts the building and one can hear "mooing" at night.

Day 10

Sometimes I'm in an artsy mood. So tonight while watching the latest two episodes of Doctor Who, I drew the Tardis! I've never used a ruler so much in my life.

Day 9

Getting ready to go out in -20 degree weather. I feel like Bear Grylls just by walking to the cafeteria. Also, mad bomber hats are becoming quite popular on campus. Maybe I'll take some stalker pictures of students in such hats soon.

Day 8

Oh J-Term. What to do with all the empty desks? Stick them in the hallways, obviously. And let random students sit in them and ponder.

Day 7

The beginning outline of my new story. It's one of my goals for J-Term, to get to work on this story. But I'm not going to explain anything about it, because it changes every day. :p

Day 6

Snowy view from my dorm window. It's a typical January night in St. Peter, blustery and beautiful at the same time.

Day 5

I spent my night finishing The Lovely Bones and drinking a cup of tea. Normally I would read aloud to my roommate, but alas she is off enjoying her time in London. And normally, I'd drink coffee. But what can I say, I'm crazy and unpredictable.

Day 4

Sword fight in the dollar section. With Em spraying Cory with a water bottle. I figured this picture would be better than a picture of Cory jump started the car (twice). Childish acts are more fun to document than adult moments.

Day 3

Spirit Garage practice from above. I shot this before the service started. I think it shows an interesting perspective. For those who don't know Spirit Garage, its a worship service in Minneapolis. It's slogan is: faith, love, and rock & roll.

Wii is no longer generational. Here's my brother and my dad teaching mom's professor how to Wii Bowl. What an enjoyable sight.

Welcome to my new 365 blog. I'll be posting a new picture from my life (from that particular day) everyday. So why not start with a picture of clinking glasses? This is my friends and I celebrating the New Year. Destined to be a great one. I guess we'll have to wait and see.
